Joanne Macher, Columbia's most experienced swim coach, founded MMAC in 1993 as Columbia Aquatic Club Swim Team (CACS). The name was changed to MMAC in the fall of 1998, because many of our swimmers lived outside of the Columbia area.

MMAC is a USA Swimming sanctioned swim team and a member of the Missouri Valley local swim committee. Coaching emphasis is toward developing the swimmer physically, mentally, emotionally, sociallly, and encouraging swimmers to be the best that they can be.

In Columbia, MMAC trains at the Macher Swim School Pool, the Hickman Pool, and the Macher Aquatic Center outdoor 50- meter pool in the summer.
