The goal of the Water Dogs recreational summer team is to give kids an introduction to competitive swimming and to have fun. Emphasis is placed on fun, skill development, and making friends. The Water Dogs are members of the Show-Me Conference and compete in the Columbia area.

Program information:

Coaching staff: Mark Golden, Michael Laupp, Dickson Stauffer, and other Macher Swim School staff

Eligibility: Be a current member of Macher Aquatic Center and be able to swim 50 yards or more.

Fri. April 22, 7-7:30pm or webpage www.macherswim.com, at Macher Swim School, register for Macher Water Dogs and suit fitting. Please call and ask for Sarah, Joanne, or Adam if you can’t make either of these dates. Thank you. Fri., May 20, at 7-7:30pm, upstairs at Macher Swim School right after race day… May practice swim meet. Distribute handouts, sign up for parent volunteer jobs at home meets, and questions/answers.

Water Dogs Practice Times: Practices will be held during the week only…Mon.—Fri.

Early season practice times:

May 31-June 7, 2011, 6:00-7:00pm at Macher Aquatic Center.

Regular season practice times:

June 8-July 8, 2011 at Macher Aquatic Center: Mon.—Fri. 9:30-10:30am; Tue. & Thur. 7:00-8:00pm

Macher Water Dogs swimmers are encouraged to attend a minimum of 2-3 practices per week. Our meets are on Wednesday nights and, also, include one Saturday. Please try to attend as many meets as possible. The meet schedule is in the following calendar of events. Arrive at the Wednesday night meets by 4:15pm and report to the Macher Water Dogs coach. Contact us for a Macher’s Water Dogs application form or you find it on-line at www.MacherSwim.com on the Macher Aquatic Center page.

Cost for Macher Water Dog membership: The cost to be on Water Dogs is $70/swimmer. Attach your check to the Macher Water Dog application form and return to Joanne Macher, Michael Laupp, or Mark Golden. Please make checks payable to Macher Aquatic Center.
